So, yeah, update on that front. It seems like what I wanted to do was massively more complicated than I imagined. So much so, in fact, that creating a custom theme from the ground up is actually easier. Before Christmas, I hope to have that done.
No promises though. This is a big job and I want to get it right.

In case it passed you by, I’ve not really been around for the last two weeks. One week of that was a holiday after which I needed a holiday and the other was four days of workshops after which I really needed a holiday.

Eroniousely "spammed" sites [FIXED] in the forum Help and Support 5 years, 10 months ago
Rather an odd one this. I noticed today that the Thanet Creative blog was showing as suspended. On closer inspection, it seems that three random blogs had been marked as spam. The funny thing was not one of them was spam.
I’ve reverted the setting and, hopefully, that will be the end of it. Shout if it happens again and I’ll dig even deeper. I…Read more

Matthew Brown started the topic How to report spam or abuse in the forum General Chat 5 years, 11 months ago
Most of the time, users here are friendly and engaging. Every now and then someone comes along and tries to abuse the site and our members. On the whole, we catch them pretty quickly and block their account which solves the problem.
Sometimes though, we miss one. If that happens please do not hesitate to come forward. We have zero-tolerance for…Read more

Removing spammers in the forum Help and Support 5 years, 11 months ago
I’ve recently had the displeasure of manually marking a number of users as spam due to ongoing abuse. Unlike traditional spammers who are usually easy to spot, this new batch seems to stick exclusively to private messages. If a user is harassing you via PM please report them to me and I will investigate.

Matthew Brown replied to the topic How to establish a narrative franchise property of books that breaks boundaries? in the forum Aspiring Authors 5 years, 11 months ago
Have you been reading my Google history?
I have been researching this very topic. I’d love to leverage the power of an ever-expanding franchise to sell more and more books. In a few bullet points, this is what I have learned so far:
