Matthew Brown edited the blog post BitTorrent based publishing in the group Matthew D. Brown (Author): 3 years, 11 months ago
What would happen if we combined blogs and BitTorrent?
I believe we would have a system that is ideal for publishing and sharing media. Users would not be dependant on a specific host to hold and display their […]

Blog:
Hi Mr Gaiman. Its my friend Bethan's birthday in 20 minutes (25th November) and she's very distressed by a dream she once had where you told her to "grow up" because she thinks Aziraphale is very cool.

It would mean a lot if you could tell her that you don't think this!!! Or also very funny if you want to agree with your dream self!! Either way we're watching Gomens to celebrate this hallowed day, hope you're doing well!
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 11 months ago
Aziraphale is very cool, and I haven’t grown up yet either.

We took a look at social media to see what people in Thanet are saying about the COVID-19 pandemic.
It makes for depressing reading. People seem to be reacting with a mix of anger, fear, and scepticism. There […]

Blog:
Hello, I have a question about writing. My English teacher keeps telling us that when we are writing our short stories we should be writing for the reader and not for ourselves. I'm not sure if she really means it like that or if she just wants us to keep our writing's effect on the reader in mind, but this seems to go against everything I feel writing is about. What are your thoughts?
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 12 months ago
She’s right. Sort of. You are writing to be read. It’s not journaling. I imagine a reader who is me, just a me who has never read that story. Sometimes a me of a d […]

Matthew Brown commented on the post, Ten signs your writing group is bad for you, on the groupblog Thanet Creative 3 years, 12 months ago
That sounds horrible. I’m sorry you had such a poor writing group experience. If it is any comfort, I have found that there are as many good groups as poor ones. I truly hope you find a group you can call home.

Blog:
Sir, are those Swamp Thing intros you wrote back in the '80s (I think for Titan's black-and-white collections?) reprinted anywhere?
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 12 months ago

Matthew Brown started the topic More groups? in the forum Book bloggers 3 years, 12 months ago
I’ve been thinking that this group pulls a lot of feeds from a lot of different blogs and can, from time to time, choke up the front page. Might it be better to give each blog its own feed?
Pros: You can subscribe to just the ones you are interested in
Cons: Lots of work and only groups that get visitors will update.
Over to you.
