Platform Building with Blogs: Use visual flair

One way to increase blog engagement is to make it more visual. Simply adding some related imagery can make a blog post seem more inviting.

You can go further of course. How about taking your camera out to take photographs of things that could act as places, ideas, or moods for your book. Don’t keep these to yourself – release a gallery of your inspiration photos to give readers a feel for your work.

What about this – why not give a visual tour of your writing space.

Another idea is to make or buy the food that your characters favour or eat frequently. Post these images with a short snippet about your setting. As a bonus, you get to eat those dishes which might be yummy and should help ground you in your setting.

Or, you know, just post pictures of your cat, dog, or local views. A sunset is something we can all try and photograph.
