Blog: Killing creativity is easy: Just Thinking about things too hard and simply not just going with the flow and writing. There’s time for editing later. Just add placeholders for everything else. Also forcing yourself to write when you aren’t in the mood. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
I don’t think any of those things kill creativity. They just make you less willing or excited to create. Killing creativity means you won’t be creating again in […]

Or a theological fantasy, or a political nightmare.

Blog: Is there any talk of delaying or rearranging filming schedules or anything like that for GO2 and Anansi Boys because of Omicron? I know the safety measures are as good as humanly possible, but what if there are a lot of positive tests among the crew when they try to show up for work (for example, because people catch it at home)? Is there a point where the powers that be will let you take a break? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
If we get to the point where we lose too many people or key people (cast or crew) we can’t replace then we’d have to stop until they were better.

Blog: What do you think kills creativity? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
Cellular death. Also brain death and often just heart stoppage.

Blog: My fiance and I have been discussing magical realism and trying to understand it better, and one thing we’ve been getting a lot of conflicting information on is if the story has to take place in our world, or if it can be another world where the fantastical elements are simply normal and accepted. I was wondering if you’d be willing to share your interpretation of it or if you gave a good source to try and understand it better. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
For me, Magical Realism needs enough Realism to exist in the here and now or the near here and the near now. As a writer, I’d say you need a reality that’s rea […]

Blog: Hello Mr. Gaiman ! I have a question that’s been on the back of my mind for a while now ever since I started reading Good Omens and finished watching the show. So sorry in advance if someone has already asked this, but I would like to know why is it that in the book Crowley is the one to speak the line: “he’s not evil incarnate or good incarnate, he’s just … a human incarnate”, whilst in the show it is Aziraphale who uses those words to encourage Adam to do what’s right and reassure him it’s okay to be ‘just’ a kid. Thank you in advance if you respond to this, you’re a great inspiration and make my days better! from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
I thought the line worked better on the screen if I gave it to Aziraphale.

Blog: You mentioned that in Season 2 of Good Omens, we (might) meet an angel named Saraqael. Is the Saraqael of GO at all related to the Saraqael of Murder Mysteries, or am I just seeing something that isn’t there? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
There’s a limited number of Real Angel Names. I recycled.
