Blog: Hi Neil, I truly enjoy your presence on this site. I was wondering if you’ve read The Hounds of The Morrigan by Pat O’Shea? It seems up your alley and it’s a book that meant a lot to me as a kid/young adult. It’s out of print now and I’m always sad that young people today can’t stumble across it in a local library and fall in love with mythology like I did. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 1 year, 3 months ago
I read it when it was published, in 1985. I think I even reviewed it for the British Fantasy Society Newsletter. I remember loving it, but don’t remember too much else, alas.

Blog: When you first started writing did you have people who would try to steal your work/plagiarize you? If so how did you respond? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 1 year, 3 months ago
It’s happened incredibly infrequently. The main one I remember was when I was a young writer (er, 23) and one of my first short stories (“The Case of the Four and […]

Blog: Neil, I was wondering about how we viewers should be supporting the WGA strike. Should I suspend my streaming services? I don’t want to be undermining writers by casually consuming entertainment. Would you be willing to recommend a best practice for those of us in the audience? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 1 year, 3 months ago
For now the WGA hasn’t asked for a boycott. What it has asked for is vocal support, on Social Media and elsewhere.

Blog: Neil I know you’ve been in this game for longer than I’ve had two legs and ten fingers, but I’m having a heck of a time getting my books in the hands of a publisher who will give them the time of day based on genre alone. I got four full length books but because I do queer romance kinda stories in an urban fantasy setting, the fantasy publishers refuse to look at them for the queer romance, and the queer romance publishers refuse to look at them for the urban fantasy, and there ain’t no room for in between. Am I chasing a pipedream here? Should I give up one half or the other? I know publishing is in a bit of a pit right now but it seems like this isn’t an issue that’s gonna resolve in my lifetime from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 1 year, 3 months ago
I’d submit them as Urban Fantasies to the Urban Fantasy publishers and as Queer Romance to the Queer Romance publishers, and as books to anyone else. Let them f […]

Blog: hi mr gaiman, when you’re writing a book, do you title it first or does that come after? or is it nothing that can be so easily defined as before or after and is rather a work in progress? thanks, quinn from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 1 year, 3 months ago
It depends on the book. Some turn up with their titles and some of them don’t. It’s like having visitors, and some of them arrive wearing hats, and some of the […]
