Blog: Hello Sir. I wanted to ask you. Do you have something to say to the editor or anyone in charge of the translation of your book or is it just picked somewhat “randomly” ? I started to listen to Good Omens, that I first read in English, now in French and the translation is just AMAZING! I loved it so much that I decided to buy Neverwhere and Norse Mythology because it has been translated by the same person. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 1 month ago
I don’t control it or choose my translators. In French I’ve been very lucky to have Patrick Marcel.

“They” here would be my friend Joe Straczynski. I’d do it happily if he could wait for it. That was how The Day of the Dead was written.

Blog: Hi Neil!
I’m not even sure this is a question, but I have a memory that burns in my head in the small hours of the night and it’s when I met you and Terry at a book fair in Gothenburg around 20 years ago when you were signing the brand new Swedish translation of Good Omens. You also held a talk about the process. I had read all of Terry’s books and I was going out of my mind at meeting him, but even as a gothy teenager (I was wearing a crow’s foot as a necklace and Terry commented on it in an amazed voice that I will never forget) I hadn’t found your books yet. Generally in those days if they weren’t at the local library I was unlikely to find them. Problem is I’m autistic and in my teens I had no idea how to talk to anyone, much less famous people, and at some point I turned to you and in a starstruck daze said “I’m sure you’re great too!” which in hindsight is an incredibly silly thing to say to a man who wrote half the book I came to have signed. I still feel terrible and embarrassed about this, so please tell me that you either have no memory of it or thought it was somehow endearing. (I did read your books after that and it turns out you were very great indeed.) from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 1 month ago
It was endearing. And honestly, Terry put up with people coming to see me to get their Sandmans signed who weren’t quite sure who he was. It was a two way street.
