Stop worring about active or passive voice, on the groupblog Thanet Creative 7 years, 2 months ago
The site is the thing and contamination was what happened to it. So, yeah, I think it is. But that’s the point – active and passive is not that big a deal.

Stop worrying about active or passive voice in the group Thanet Creative: Writers: 7 years, 2 months ago
This post is about “active voice” and “passive voice” in writing. I will show you why you should not worry about them. The truth is that while the active and passive voice can both be worth knowing about, they are […]

WTF WordPress. Does this look like a scheduled post. No it does not! It looks like a post published when no one is awake…

Use maths to find your minimum price per story in the group Matthew D. Brown (Author): 7 years, 2 months ago
Can we use maths to work out the minimum price per story that a writer should accept? After all, writing “for the exposure” does not put food on my table.
This post was inspired by an offer from a group […]

Can someone please explain what voice is?
My SEO thing keeps telling me I use too much passive voice when I write. How does passive voice differ from active?

Tiny MCE and BBPress bug, on the groupblog Author Buzz Developer Blog 7 years, 2 months ago
The console error message was a bit cryptic. It showed there was a problem but I could find no information that led to a solution. I will keep looking, though.

Have you tried using a browser debugger to see if that gives any clues?

“What if” is a powerful question.

Beta Testers: How is the site speed? in the forum Help and Support 7 years, 2 months ago
I’ve added an additional speed enhancement. It is a very small one so I don’t expect it will make much difference but, as they say, every little helps.

I guess I spoke too soon. The update seems to have had a very strange side effect – BBPress’ WYSIWYG editor has stopped working.

Forum bug in the forum Help and Support 7 years, 2 months ago
After tearing my hair out for a while I have given up and switched off the WYSIWYG editor for the time being. This seems to have fixed things as that was where the problem was. It sucks and as soon as I can figure out why that is the problem (and fix it), I will activate it again.

Thanks for the bug report. I’ve flushed the cache just to be safe and I will monitor things for now. I’ve seen the bug in action too while I was trying to reply. the visual composer seems to have detached from the text.
I’m not sure what could be causing it but if it persists I will try to figure something out.

I’ve noticed a bug that sometimes effects forums. Sometimes the post completely loses the body content. It seems to only happen when the visual tab is chosen. I think this started after the last update.
