Probably for the best. I had no idea what the extras/pages things were for anyway.

All the time.
When I invest in self-care and relax, the ideas come back.

I feel pretty indifferent. I am not bothered by the idea. Who knows? Maybe it will be fun?

It is a bit of both. Only you can implement your vision for your idea. If anyone else tries it will be their vision for someone else’s idea. Pretty weak, right.
You are right, idea “theft” does happen in Hollywood. That’s because writers are often only selling an idea. They pitch it to executives and some of those think they can make money by…Read more

You start with what you know; not stick to it in the group Thanet Creative: Writers: 6 years, 1 month ago
One of the worst pieces of advice I have ever received was this – write what you know. Balderdash! How would fantasy, science fiction, and alternative histories get written if people stuck only to the things they […]

Matthew Brown replied to the topic What do you blog about? in the forum General Chat 6 years, 1 month ago
The sky is the limit really. I would recommend that at the very least you talk about topics that relate to your major themes. For example, if you write about working-class characters in a period just after World War 2 then blog about life in that period. Post historic pictures. Link to real-life accounts of the era. Address posts to people that…Read more

I love bad jokes. How is this going to work? Do we have a thread for each type of joke or post a new one for each new joke?

Are you saying that ideas cannot be stolen or are you saying that when they are “stolen” they change and become something else? I’m confused. I really don’t want to do years and years of work only to have some thief take all the credit. It happens in Hollywood all the time.

I had not thought about it that way. Sorry, I know this topic is from last year but I guess I must have missed it the first time round.
Is there other stuff writers could blog about that would help sell books? I might start to blog if there are…..

Jason Latnar replied to the topic Could I get into trouble for this? in the forum General Chat 6 years, 1 month ago
From what I have been told stuff like satire is a safe harbour. It means that you can use satire as a defence in IP law cases. Does that help?

Matthew Brown started the topic How would you feel about a little gamification here? in the forum General Chat 6 years, 1 month ago
I’ve been working on gamification for another WordPress site which provides users with points and badges that they can earn by participating. The software that I used would allow for using your points to “buy” services and unlock parts of a site. I did not use the “buy” part and I am not sure it is necessarily the right choice for Author Buzz but…Read more

I have taken a look into this. Yes, you are right. The plugin does not appear to be actively maintained. I think it would be safer to remove it and find another way to give you these features.
Leave it with me.
