Blog:
Hello, Mr Gaiman! Recently I found an uncorrected proof of American Gods lying around my house (given to my great aunt from a family friend). I was hoping you'd be able to confirm its authenticity (and my apologies for the coffee stains).

from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 3 months ago
That’s real, yes. I think that version is also missing the final chapter. They were printed for a Borders Books Managers meeting in Las Vegas.

Blog:
A while ago there was an ask or post (or something similar) relating to a play adaptation of The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Of course, knowing that one of my friends absolutely loves your works and gifted the same book to me for Christmas, effectively introducing me to your works, I sent him the post.

After looking up the play it seems like it was performed (will be performed?) in the UK. Unfortunately, my friend and I are American. (We also do not have the means of travelling, especially with recent events). Thus I wanted to ask: Will the play show anywhere in the U.S.? Or perhaps, is there/will there be anywhere online to watch it?
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 3 months ago
I believe the hope is that it will travel to the US, yes. There’s also the National Theatre Live programming where they film plays and show them in cinemas. It m […]

Blog:
The first thing I ever read by you, I didn't realize that you wrote. It was the essay that went into Sim City. It was only after I got really into your novels, and I went back to reread that essay, that I recognized your name. Talk about retroactive recognition.

I don't know if you ever think of that essay anymore, but I want you to know it lives rent free in my head.
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 4 months ago
I’m glad. I like the idea that small things I’ve made over the years just live in people’s heads.

Blog:
Do you know if there are there any plans to produce new copies of the Tenth Anniversary edition of American Gods in the UK? I can't seem to find any for sale, I listened to the audiobook and loved it and would like to be able to follow along with a print copy next time.
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 4 months ago
Any copies of the text printed in the UK since 2011 are the tenth anniversary text, don’t worry.

Blog:
Bought a second hand car a few months back. Last week the CD player started making weird noises. I've never used it before (because it's 2021, ya know). Today I get in car and it starts playing a CD that I swear was not there before.

Honest truth, I eject it and its a Best of Queen album.
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 4 months ago
It is a true thing…

Blog:
Howdy hello! Do you know if there will be scenes in the upcoming Good Omens 2 that could be an issue for photosensitive/epileptic viewers? And if there are, will there be warnings at the beginning of said episode (s)? I had no problems with the first season, but it's becoming more and more of an issue lately with other pieces of media. Have a nice day, thank you
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 4 months ago
We haven’t shot it yet. I can’t imagine there would be any strobey scenes. If there were I’d definitely want to make sure there was a warning.

Blog:
So, eh… (assuming they didn't slap a nondisclosure agreement on you or anything) did the Wonder Woman '84 people give you any credit/acknowledgement for the Dreamstone stuff? Or is it treated purely an adaptation of Gardner Fox's Destiny?
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 4 months ago
I think they (rightly) assumed it was Gardner Fox material.

Blog:
I just read Ocean at the End of the Lane and was wondering if there was any particular mythos that you drew from in creating the supernatural elements or if it was just cobbled together from ideas? And if the worm in the foot was fully original, I want u to know I respect u so much as an author but but also *w h y*
from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 3 years, 4 months ago
It’s cobbled together from ideas. Why? Memories of how I felt when I first learned about Guinea Worm, I suspect.
