I don’t know. Also, by “the show” do you mean Sandman, or Good Omens 2, or Anansi Boys?

Blog: Dear Neil: I am in a bit of a pickle and wondered if you might have any words of wisdom for me. I’m 24 and all I’ve ever wanted to do with my life is write. I’ve been working on a novel for over ten years, and now I’m finally at the endpoint, and all I can do is worry. What I’m deluding myself? What if it’s not good enough and nobody wants to publish it? I’ve sunk so much of my life into this book that the idea of having to give it all up and start from scratch is heartbreaking. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 9 months ago
Just remember that this isn’t the end of the road. This is the beginning. You’ve written your first novel, and that’s wonderful, and you’ve finished it, and tha […]

Blog: Have you eaten yet? Is a common greeting in some Asian countries. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 9 months ago
I know. It’s a beautiful greeting. I’m afraid I just read Damon Knight’s short story “To Serve Man” at too young and impressionable an age.

Blog: I’m very disappointed to hear you’re auctioning off an NFT. I don’t care if it’s for charity, they are incredibly harmful for multiple reasons and are basically a pyramid scheme. An image that is NOT an NFT would not cause harm like they do. They’re environmentally harmful and exist to shore up cryptocurrency. I really respect you as an author and a person and I’m was really disappointed to hear about this. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 9 months ago
I know. My opinion of NFTs is incredibly low. But I was willing, along with Khaled Hosseini and several others, to donate something to this auction because I know […]

Blog: Do you ever feel envious about what other writers have achieved? When I wasn’t published I wanted to be published, and now that I’m published I want to make more money and hit certain milestones, and if those two events happen, I know there will be new peaks I want to hit. But you seem like you’re at the top of the mountain. Are you ever envious? Are there higher peaks you want to reach? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 9 months ago
I’m envious of writers who just get to write, and don’t have to run TV shows and suchlike. I’d like more quiet writing time. But I long long long ago decid […]

Blog: I had a thought while rewatching GO. When Aziraphale is discorporated, he realizes that angels can’t possess humans, but “demons can.” He then goes over to the earth, asks how to work it, and says, “oh well, I’ll figure it out as I go.” Does he assume that by disobeying and going back to earth, he will have fallen, and become a demon? Which would put multiple meanings for having to figure it out as he goes. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 9 months ago
No, it’s more that he realises that as Angels and Demons are the same kind of beings, if Demons can do it, then he probably can too.

Blog: I know this is a long shot but hi there! My name is Olivia and I’m a fifteen year old from Scotland. I would love to work in the film industry one day but gaining that experience in Scotland is proving to be hard and my school wants me to get some sort of work experience (they probably mean along the lines of working at a local coffee shop but you know what they say, go big or go home!) so I was wondering if I could shadow someone (even for a few hours) on the set of Good Omens or Anansi Boys. I have grown up around your work and I absolutely adore it (big fan of Neverwhere) so the opportunity to work around one of your projects would mean the absolute world to me. So, that’s my question. Could I shadow someone on set to try and gain some set experience? I’ll try my best to not go full fangirl mode. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 9 months ago
I don’t know. Let me find out who to ask. It’s a LOT harder than it used to be, due to Covid protocols.
