Blog: Hey Neil! Hope you’re doing great!! Could you give us a small update on how the post-production of season 2 of Good Omens is coming along? What percentage of the work have you finished already would you say? Thanks!!! from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 4 months ago
It’s going very well, thank you. I don’t really know how to express it in terms of a percentage because that doesn’t map onto time in a way that’s helpful.

Blog: Mr Gaiman, I wanted to say I love Good Omens and Coraline and genuinely love following you on tumblr, you are such a kind soul. Unfortunately I’ve never read any of your books, I love the stories that I’ve watched that I know you’ve had a hand in (like good omens, coraline, lucifer) but I have dyslexia so my reading has been somewhat limited. I really want to get into reading some of your books, but not sure where to start. What book would you recommend for a first time reader like me? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 4 months ago
Why not check out the audiobooks? You can listen to me reading the whole of The Graveyard Book online for free at YouTube, to see if you enjoy them.Start at

Blog: How do you feel about bears (the animal?) The bears we grow in the Americas tend to be super huge and also bears are always just wandering around suburbs. I know they are much less of a thing where you’re from, and I was wondering if that has given you a different perspective than I have on bears. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 4 months ago
There aren’t any bears in the UK. The American ones are creatures I treat with enormous respect, ever since one turned up and emptied the bird feeder on a heavy i […]

Blog: hi. For his flaws, CS Lewis was able to openly state in a children’s book how bad school bullying was, at a time when children being bullied at school was not only accepted but often viewed as “building character”. Things such as saying that because i was a fat (cis) boy that I needed a bra and ladies sussies and fishnets, still hurts me all these years later. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 4 months ago
You may be right but I cannot for the life of me think of any pro-bullying children’s books. And I was a (sometimes bullied) kid who read a LOT, and who d […]

Blog: Mr. Gaiman, I just wanted to show my appreciation of your incredible creation by showing you my custom-made figurine set of the Endless. I made them years ago and never had the courage to show them to you, but the news about the upcoming TV series pushed me to revisit my Sandman-related creations and finally encouraged me to share them with you. I hope you like them and that they do your incredible characters even the slightest of justice. The Sandman is truly one of the great literary creations of the century. The show looks amazing. I can’t wait to get lost in the Dreaming again. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 4 months ago
Well done!

Blog: Dear Mr. Gaiman, First and foremost, congratulations on having the masterpiece The Sandman coming to Netflix! I’m a new fan to this lovely piece of literature, yet had been fascinated by all your other stories for a good portion of my life. So to be immersed in this world of dreams/nightmares is exciting. I was wondering if you accept fanart? It’s one of the few ways to show my gratitude and appreciation for what you have given to the world. If not, I completely understand and accept your wishes. I hope to be able to meet you one day, once the world has found its footing and a calm settles in. But until then, may you and your family have a lovely day. Once again, congratulations! Sincerely, A. Barden from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 4 months ago
That’s marvelous! Thank you.

Blog: Mr. Neil, I listened to your podcast with Tim Ferriss recently and for some reason, the way you talked about your writing process oiled the writing gears in my head and I’ve been feverishly writing for four days now. As I write, I have been thinking about the editing process and wondering what this story will look like once it’s finished. What parts will I cut out, what will I add… it’s truly the chipping away of marble til David appears. So I guess my question is, how much marble do you chip away? How similar is the first sentence in the first journal to the finished product on the shelf? I appreciate all your art has done for the world and myself. Thanks. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 4 months ago
You don’t get to know that until the block of marble exists.

Blog: hello! I’m the daughter of a Veteran of Foreign War.My father loves his country, believes in human rights for all, and his time in the United States Marine Core is a significant part of who he is. He helped shaped me and gave me strength in my convictions today as a feminist and disability advocate. Which brings me to Mervyn from Sandman. I’m reading The Sandman for the first time in prep for the netflix release. This moment, Mervyn’s moment, this was probably the greatest thing I have ever seen. I don’t think I can quite emphasize how spectacular that moment was. When he goes into battle with that freaking Merve confidence wearing a USMC jacket, cigar dangling in his mouth, ready to fight whatever challenge in front of him, and doing it all for Dream and the dreaming– My heart swelled and i don’t think i will ever get over this moment whenever I think about it. It was so beautiful. Beautiful and heart breaking. And what a line. I might turn it into a t-shirt just for me to make me smile. Remind me of Merv’s bravado. I think he might have been my favorite of them all in the end. RIP Mervyn. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 4 months ago
I love Merv so much.
