Blog: Hi, there, sir, fan of your work, currently reading Trigger Warnings for the first time, and was shocked to know that you really have an official Tumblr page, so here I am… OK, I have a question: in the short story “The Lunar Labyrinth”, is the very final word, “laughter”, really THE last word of the story (which is hauntingly great, by the way) or is it a typo of the word “slaughter”? Not only that, is the ending a downer or actually a happy one that actually feels like a downer? Don’t worry if you’re not gonna answer for a while, since you’re busy and I’m admittedly patient enough while reaching “The Case of Death and Honey” as of this writing. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 6 months ago
It’s laughter. With an S very close to it…

Just curious on your take on that, because I, as a fan, prefer your original of Neverwhere, and found your descriptions of characters charming, mysterious, and wonderful. (that’s a hefty portion of all your creations, really, if I’m being honest) from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 6 months ago
The graphic novel adaptation of Neverwhere wasn’t something I was in control of, no.

Blog: I showed my father A Study in Emerald, as he is a big Holmes fan, and he told me to “Let this Neil Gaiman fella know that he’s a pretty good writer”, and that he should “Write some more of these stories, if he’s not too busy.” from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 6 months ago
I really should. Show him “A Case of Death and Honey” too, if you get a chance.

Blog: I read Wil Wheaton’s book years ago, when the internet was still small, and in the foreword, you mentioned that you had never actually met. I just finished the annotated updated version and had to ask…Have you met in person yet? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 6 months ago
We have met several times. He’s really nice.

Blog: Hi Mr. Gaiman! I read Click Clack the Rattlebag recently and it bugged me that the monster seems to be repeatedly insinuating that the speaker is missing something crucial, telling him to think about what he did that day, that his brain is he filling in gaps and that the Click Clack preys on what you don’t pay attention to, but when I read back through the text expecting to have a moment of realisation over an obvious clue of the child’s true nature, I failed to find anything that could act as such without needing to already be aware of the ending, which the speaker obviously couldn’t have been. So I wanted to ask, was there a specific moment, maybe a sentence or a paragraph, that these lines were meant to refer to? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 6 months ago
Possibly the fact that his girlfriend didn’t have a little brother.
