Blog: Hi Mr Gaiman, good morning/afternoon/eveing/night (depending on when you are reading this). I have been a fan of Coraline since I was fairly young, and recently re-read it. I then came across a theory on the internet that the tunnel between the little door and the other side is the throat of a huge monster or creature, and that’s why it sometimes feels warm or can retract and expand. I was curious so I thought I’d ask, was this intended to be an interpretation or is this just one idea that’s out there? Okay, thank you for reading. 🙂 from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 5 months ago
It’s one idea. What the text says is:It was an uphill run, and it seemed to her that it went on for a longer distance than anything could possibly go. The wall s […]

Blog: Hi Mr Gaiman! would you say it is polite to send authors homemade illustrations to their books? I struggle with etiquette and don’t want to come off as creepy or impolite and your opinion as an author would be very helpful. thank you. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 5 months ago

Blog: I just finished reading the graveyard book, and I’m curious, why did you decide to end it that way? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 5 months ago
Because that seemed to me as the writer the way that the story ended.

Blog: Howdy there Mr. Gaiman. I was wondering if you had any recommendations for someone who loved Diana Wynn Jones’ Howls Moving Castle book series, and is missing the whimsical magic atmosphere. Hope this finds you well! from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 5 months ago
There’s nobody who writes magic as well as Diana did. But there are a LOT of books by Diana Wynne Jones and while they are all different, they are also all s […]

Blog: Hi Neil!! I’ve asked this before but I’m pretty sure it must have been lost in a sea of questions so I’ll try again. I am a massive Queen fan and having their songs in Series 1 of Good Omens was probably what made me love the show so much. I was wondering if we’d be blessed enough to hear their songs in Series 2 as well? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 5 months ago
I’m pretty sure I’ve already answered that one. As much as I have answered anything to do with Season 2 content, anyway.

Blog: Are authors usually contractually obligated to say that they think the New Unreleased Movie About The Book is *very faithful* to the book? Because I love Book-I-Won’t-Name but the Netflix movie wants me to eat glass. The only reason I watched the movie was because the author said it was faithful but within the first ten minutes we see the character doing something she’s *said* she’d never ever do. And it only goes downhil from there. It was as if they slapped the title on an entirely separate movie. Do movie executives *read* the books??? Do you, as an author, have any say in the wild ooc changes?? Do I blame Netflix for my fav childhood series being eviscerated? Help from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 5 months ago

Blog: Hi Mr. Gaiman, I am currently writing a story and I have to thank you cause your masterclass was so helpful. Especially your advise about the compost heap. I had this idea for a while but it wasn’t until I combined it with an idea I threw on the ‘compostheap’ that it became something interesting. So this isn’t an ask but a big THANKS! from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 5 months ago
