Quick straw poll: Do you write in the same genres that you read?

Sort of. I write in genres that sort of overlap with the ones I like to read.

I generally write in very specific non-fiction genres. This requires me to read in that same topic space.

There is some overlap but I read more widely in terms of genre than I write.

That might be because my first choice of genre is underrepresented in the market. That, or I am too fussy.
