Blog: Hi! In episode three of Good Omens, when Adam tells Anethema about the book he once wrote, he says: “I wrote a book once. It was about a famous detective, who is also a pirate […]” (I am quoting this out of my head, sorry for mistakes if there are any). Since I saw the scene the first time, I wondered if the quote is about the BBC Version of Sherlock. Was this intentional? from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
The quote is originally from the book Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and me, and we wrote that bit in 1988, and the book was published in 1990. Sherlock on the BBC […]

Blog: Just watched good omens again and… no English subtitles-? Amazon prime defaulted to, I believe it’s a middle eastern language, with no options to change it- Similar but, is there a reason the music is so loud in comparison to dialogue? Makes it a good bit difficult for HoH ppl to watch. Love the show so much though! And your books! from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago

Blog: Hi Neil! I had a question about Coraline (happy 20th anniversary!!). From your original manuscripts to the final publication, did you have to change a lot of the story? Thank you! from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
No. I added the chapter with the Other Father in, when my editor wanted to know what had happened to him. Otherwise it was exactly the same.

Blog: Dear Neil: I am in a bit of a pickle and wondered if you might have any words of wisdom for me. I’m 24 and all I’ve ever wanted to do with my life is write. I’ve been working on a novel for over ten years, and now I’m finally at the endpoint, and all I can do is worry. What I’m deluding myself? What if it’s not good enough and nobody wants to publish it? I’ve sunk so much of my life into this book that the idea of having to give it all up and start from scratch is heartbreaking. from Neil Gaiman in the group Fans of Neil Gaiman 2 years, 11 months ago
Just remember that this isn’t the end of the road. This is the beginning. You’ve written your first novel, and that’s wonderful, and you’ve finished it, and tha […]
