Platform building: Ask fun questions

One way to generate engagement on social media is to ask interesting and fun questions. They do not have to be serious questions but they do have to be enjoyable to engage with.

For example, a fantasy fiction writer might ask, “if you were transported to the shire on a day that Gandolf is visiting, what would you try and do before you are transported home?”

For example, a science fiction writer might ask, “you are about to be kidnapped by passing aliens, you have just enough time to grab one thing that’s near you now. What do grab and why?”

For example, if you had many Jane Austin fans you might ask, “You have ten minutes to talk with Fanny Price before she departs for the Northamptonshire country estate of Sir Thomas Bertram, what would you say to her?”
