Author Platforms: You do have a blog right?

The humble blog is a powerful author platform building tool. It gives you somewhere for your social media followers and mailing list subscribers to come to engage with you.

If you do not have a blog, you have a number of options:

The best solution: Inexpensive hosting and your own web address (superwriter.com, amazingwriter.co.uk, or whatever). 20i is great in that they offer specialised WordPress hosting and amazing support (we use them). Cost: extremely reasonable. Full control.

A good solution: Get a free Author Buzz UK blog. Cost: free. Built-in promotion and community.

Another solution: Any other blog hosting service like WordPress.com, blogger.com, or Tumblr.com. Cost: free.
