      (Does this count, Matt?)

Novelist Robert Plunket: ‘There’s a cruelty in human nature that publishers pretend doesn’t exist’. With its “racist, fat-phobic” hero, Plunket’s 1983 classic, My Search for Warren Harding, is the novel our timid times need.

      Warning: Pay Wall

Yeah, I think this counts (just) – it is an opinion worth talking about at any rate.

Since when are hot takes about needed racism “news”?

On their own, they’re not. This one squeaks by on the grounds that it looks like a book review.

Having not read the article (paywall) my instinct is that the columnist is overblowing things as rage bate. As hot takes go, “publishers don’t explore this bit of human nature” seems lukewarm at best.
